STS has been safely providing bulk liquid intermodal services to the Pacific Northwest since 2006. STS offers a complete solution for transporting and servicing ISO tank containers and flexi-tanks. We have a container depot handling both loaded and empty tanks, and utilize our own trucks and chassis along with leased operators to provide truck drayage throughout the Northwest. All of our drivers are hazmat certified. Jana Corder is the General Manager and information on some of our key personnel is below.
STS became part of RSI Logistics in 2018. RSI has been helping rail shippers reduce transit costs and improve supply chain control through service products, consulting, and technology solutions since 1985. RSI serves clients from 25 locations and is organized into four business areas: Rail Logistics Services, Rail Technology Solutions, Bulk Intermodal Services, and Bulk Transload Operations.
Jana Corder has been in the transportation business for over 30 years, with the last 28 years dedicated to chemical transportation. Her focus has been primarily on the Intermodal market, concentrated mainly on the growing tank container and flexi-container business. She has started and managed intermodal divisions for several different common carriers on the West Coast prior to Specialized Transport Service.
Rich Jongsma, former Chicago South-sider and self declared speed-aholic, found his home in intermodal trucking back when Ray approached him about driving for a young trucking company. As STS grew, the need for a dedicated day-to-day manager became apparent, and given Rich’s past managerial experience in the food industry, he was a perfect fit to fulfill this need. Rich has been in intermodal trucking for 16+ years, and dispatching for 10.
Brandon Elliott got his start in transportation working with cranes. His father is a crane operator, so he was exposed to trucking and regulations early on. He got his first chance at fleet management at 18 years old and has loved it ever since. Brandon’s other passion is technology. He operated his own computer repair company for 5+ years. These skills make him an ideal candidate to handle the IT needs and transportation regulations at STS.
Cynthia Elliott managed accounts payable for a heavy equipment company in Las Vegas, Nevada for 2 years before relocating back home to Portland, Oregon. She now oversees the record keeping and retention along with co-managing the accounting department. She continues to wear many hats with STS, as she aids in daily operations, the hiring process, disputes and federal regulations.
Zoe, STS’s official mascot for over ten years, loves short walks to the fire hydrant, anything from Rich’s magical lunchbox and frequent cuddles from Brandon. Zoe helps with everything around the office, from boosting morale to aiding in hiring potential candidates. One bark for no, two barks for yes. In her free time, Zoe likes to network with her fellow canine colleagues and discuss the best techniques to train their humans.
